BRUSSELS, Wednesday - Labour (PvdA) has written lesson material on the EU for Dutch schoolchildren. Education Minister Ronald Plasterk will be presented with the booklet today. Max van den Berg, PvdA leader in the European Parliament, wrote the 125-page booklet, 'Workplace Europe.' It will be presented to over 100 schools. The pupils will get to know more about the importance of Europe, according to the MEP. "Young people are often idealistic but also pragmatic. This is exactly what Europe needs," according to Van den Berg. Plasterk, himself also a PvdA member, has not subsidised the book, but has no objection to it. It is not a propaganda exercise, according to Van den Berg. |
