 Dutch Games Market Growing Rapidly
 

AMSTERDAM, 25/11/06 - The Dutch market for video games is flourishing, according to research by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

PCW predicts sales will grow from 315 million euros in 2005 to 513 million in 2010. According to the researchers, there is "a strong, lively market for video games, which has grown by over 10 percent annually in the past five years."

Within the Dutch games market, console games (for game computers) had the biggest market share of 41 percent in 2005. The market share of online video games was 34 percent, while the market for wireless games was much smaller.

In 2005, Dutch consumers spent 128 million euros on console games, up 7.6 percent from the previous year. The market for online video games advanced by 38.5 percent to 108 million in the same year, while the market for wireless games surged 61.5 percent.
