 Dutch Brothers Develop 'Magic Textile'

AMSTERDAM, 25/08/09 - Two Dutch brothers have developed a heat resistant textile which they say will start a revolution in sport, healthcare and defence. "During the past months, scores of top international sports people have tested it. The results are astounding", says Iwan Postel, who owns the exclusive rights to the textile.

The brothers Dick and Iwan Postel have signed a contract with Greek football club Panathinaikos. In exchange for some 200,000 euros, the Athens club may use the mysterious shirts for a period of ten days. These should contribute to a greater body balance and endurance.

The Postel brothers told De Telegraaf newspaper that the shirts contain minerals that filter infra red from the sunlight and pass it on to the body. Apparently, the vibrating and rotating effects of this radiation stimulate the blood microcirculation, which leads to improved oxygen absorption and a faster release of lactic acids and other toxins.

As a result, the body remains in better balance and the athlete can retain his or her level for longer and recuperate more quickly after the effort, as the product description states. The same should apply for army troops and patients recovering from heart surgery, for example.

Top sports people who already tested the textile include race car drivers Olivier Panis, Romain Grosjean, Fernando Alonso, the Red Bull Formula1 team, motorcycle racers Hector Berbera and Dani Pedrosa, cyclist Samuel Sanchez, tennis player Dinara Safina and Turkish football pro Arda Turan. The product has not yet undergone scientific testing, "but the statistics by the sports people speak for themselves", the brothers claim.

The physiotherapist of the Dutch Handball Federation, Maarten Groeneveld, has also tested the textile and agrees that it really works. "It is bizarre. I've done all sorts of tests with the handball players and they are simply jumping higher. I'm curious to see what this will bring about in the world of sports".
