THE HAGUE, 23/02/07 - Arnoud Bos, the younger brother of Labour (PvdA) leader Wouter Bos, is playing Premier Jan Peter Balkenende in a two-part TV drama.

Public broadcaster VPRO has made a drama about Prince Friso and his wife Princess Mabel Wisse Smith. Their relationship caused a big political commotion three years ago because Wisse Smith had had a relationship with top gangster Klaas Bruinsma, assassinated in 1991. Balkenende could eventually do nothing other than refrain from requesting parliamentary approval for the controversial marriage.

Newspaper De Telegraaf reported yesterday that Balkenende's part will be played by Anoud Bos in the TV series 'De Prins en het Meisje.' The PvdA leader's younger brother has already been seen in TV series earlier. The new drama will be broadcast next autumn.
