THE HAGUE, 22/03/07 - GeenStijl.nl is the big winner among the Dutch Bloggies. The site won both the jury and the public's prize in the 'best written web-log' category.

GeenStijl describes itself as a site where news facts, scandalous revelations and journalistic investigation take turns with light subjects and nonsense. Socialist Party (SP) MP Harry van Bommel and Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Geert Wilders are columnists for it. GeenStijl attracts over 75,000 visitors daily, putting it among the Netherlands' Top 10 most popular news sites.

The Dutch Bloggies has 15 categories. Wijblijvenhier.nl ('we are staying here'), an initiative of immigrants, won in the 'best collective web-log' and 'best web-log according to the public' categories. The incentive prize went to Nuitblanche.nl. No winner was chosen in the 'best political web-log' and 'best designed web-log,' as the "quality was too low," according to the jury.
