THE HAGUE, 10/03/07 - The Netherlands has ratified a treaty to open up to the public a large Nazi archive on the Holocaust.

Eleven countries, united in the International Tracing Service (ITS) of the International Red Cross, entered into the treaty in April 2006. The United States, Israel and Poland had already ratified the agreement. Still to follow are Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Greece, France, the UK and Germany.

The archive, which is kept in Arolsen, Germany, will only be opened to the public after all the countries have ratified. The extensive archive consists of detailed information on the conditions in concentration camps.
