THE HAGUE, 11/01/03 - Marten Fortuyn is to play an active part in the Pim Fortuyn List (LPF) election campaign. He describes his earlier intention to remain in the background as "An error of judgement".

"I want to make it very clear that the LPF is a good party with a good program and good management," declared the brother of the assassinated Pim Fortuyn on Friday. Among other things, he will tour along on the LPF campaign bus, which is traveling across the country. He is also hoping to get media coverage.

Until now, Marten Fortuyn said he did not wish to fulfil a political role. He has decided to get involved in the LPF campaign after all "now that other parties who denounced Pim in the past are propagating his ideas". He also sees a role for himself after the elections, perhaps as an LPF executive member.
