'Bankruptcy Numbers to Stabilise in 2014’
THE HAGUE, 21/11/13 - After years of rising numbers, bankruptcies in the Netherlands will stabilise next year, credit insurer Atradius forecast Wednesday based on its own research.
Atradius expects nearly 9,400 companies to go bankrupt in the full 2013 year, 9 percent more than in 2012. In that year, bankruptcy numbers rose by 21 percent. “While the Dutch economy will only recover slightly in 2014, this appears to be enough to turn the tide,” the researchers conclude. The Netherlands is one of the countries in Europe hardest hit by the recession, as a result of which bankruptcy numbers have reached record highs in 2012 and 2013. The number of Dutch companies going bankrupt is currently about twice as high as in the period before the crisis. |
